The Fall 2018 Women Veterans Civic Leadership Workshop Series @ Chestnut Hill College – The Fall 2018 Civic Leadership Workshop Series is the region’s leading Civic Leadership Incubator for Today’s Military Women. It is a dynamic collection of: workshops lead by expert Guest Lecturers; case studies; panel discussions; debates on current public policy issues; public speaking & media training forums.
Participants receive professional instruction in the development and/or updating of their 2018-2019 Civic Leaders E-Portfolio to document, track and present their achievements from their participation in the 2018 Civic Leadership Development Series.
Successful completion of the Civic Leadership Series prepares graduates for 2019 Civic Engagement Opportunities, Board Leadership; Local Community Appointments and The Women Veterans 2020 Delegation To Capitol Hill.
The Women Veterans Civic Leadership Institute is dedicated to Today’s Military Women who are Emerging Community Leaders; Seeking Civic Engagement Opportunities; Dedicated to Community Service; and are leading candidates for our nationwide “Military Women In Public Leadership” Campaign. How does an 18-year old immigrant woman whose parents are both college professors and steeped in a tradition of non-violence end up in the armed forces? Well, I enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, thinking I would serve my four years and get out. Little did I know the four would stretch to 10 years on active duty (enlisted and officer) and another 22 as an Air Force spouse.
